What are your rates?

My standard rates (paid automatically by credit card) are:

Somatic Therapy

  • 50 minutes — $175
  • 75 minutes — $250

Neurofeedback

  • 30 minutes — $130 (Direct / LENS Neurofeedback)
  • 40 minutes — $160 (Connectivity Neurofeedback)

Payment is processed automatically at the time of your session.

E-transfer payments

If you prefer to pay by e-transfer, I offer a small reduced rate to reflect the savings on credit card processing fees.
E-transfer payments must be received before the session.

What is your cancellation policy?

Like most private medical and therapeutic practices:

  • 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling
  • Late cancellations are typically charged at the full session rate

This helps protect session availability for all clients.

Is somatic therapy covered by extended health benefits?

Yes — almost all extended health plans in Canada cover sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). Whether we are doing somatic therapy, or neurofeedback, or both—all of my services are usually covered. 

How much is covered depends on your individual plan.

We recommend checking with your provider to confirm:

  • Your annual coverage amount
  • Whether RCC services are included (most plans do)

Can you directly bill my insurance company?

I can directly bill Pacific Blue Cross.

For other insurance providers, you need to pay first then submit your receipt to them for reimbursement.

Do you offer a sliding-scale for services?

I have a limited number of sliding-scale spots where I offer a partial reduction on my rates.

After your first session (at regular rates), we can discuss your financial situation and whether a partial rate reduction is possible.

What is somatic therapy?

Somatic therapy is an approach to healing anxiety and trauma that focuses on reconnecting with the body and nervous system — where stress and survival responses are held.

Once a sense of safety and understanding is established in the therapeutic relationship, we gently bring attention to sensations, emotions, impulses, and nervous-system responses, always at a pace your system can integrate.

This allows healing to happen not just through insight, but through embodied experience and regulation.

What Is Somatic Therapy?

What if I feel uncomfortable noticing my body or emotions?

That’s very common—especially for people experiencing anxiety, trauma, or long-standing stress.

If body awareness feels overwhelming, the first step is simply to slow down and make sure we are moving at a pace that feels manageable for your nervous system. Often, feeling safe and connected in the therapeutic relationship helps the body begin to relax naturally.

In some cases, starting with neurofeedback can also be helpful. Neurofeedback helps the brain settle into calmer, more stable patterns, which often makes body awareness and emotional work feel much easier to approach.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?

Many people who don’t respond well to talk therapy, cognitive therapy, or even EMDR find somatic therapy more effective.
Not benefiting from past therapy doesn’t say anything about how you may respond to a body-based, nervous-system–focused approach.

Some clients benefit from:

  • Slower pacing
  • More emphasis on regulation and safety
  • A physiological, nervous-system approach
  • A more relational, body-based style
  • Additional stabilization, such as neurofeedback

Do you offer in-person and online sessions?

For somatic therapy, I offer both. Most clients prefer in-person sessions when possible, especially for somatic and body-based work. Being in the same room often allows for deeper regulation and connection.

However, somatic therapy can be done online, and many clients find it helpful — especially if commuting to my office is either difficult or stressful for you. 

All neurofeedback sessions are in-person only.

Can I combine somatic therapy and neurofeedback?

Yes — you can use either approach on its own, or combine both.

For some clients, neurofeedback is helpful early on to support stabilization, reduce symptoms, and calm the nervous system.
Once the system feels steadier, somatic therapy can then deepen the work by helping you process and integrate experiences through the body.

For others, somatic therapy alone is enough — or neurofeedback alone may be the right fit.

We’ll choose the approach that best supports your nervous system, your goals, and your current capacity.

What is neurofeedback, and is it safe?

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, brain-based method that helps support nervous-system regulation.

It has been researched since the 1960s and is used worldwide for concerns such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Trauma
  • Sleep issues
  • Concussion and brain injury symptoms
  • ADD & ADHD
  • Autism

Many clients use neurofeedback as a stabilizing foundation before (or alongside) somatic therapy.

How long has neurofeedback been used?

Neurofeedback has been studied and developed for over 60 years, with research across neuroscience, psychology, and clinical medicine.

Modern systems are gentle, non-invasive, and tailored to individual nervous-system needs.

Where is your office located?

My Vancouver therapy office is located in Kitsilano near Broadway and Macdonald. The address is:

I work with clients from across Vancouver, including Point Grey and UBC, as well as clients from Richmond, Burnaby, North Vancouver, and nearby communities.

Online sessions are also available for clients across British Columbia and Canada.

Is there parking near your office?

Yes.

  • $1/hour street parking is available on Broadway
  • Free parking is available on nearby side streets (Check Stephens, Trafalgar, 8th, 10th, or 11th Ave)

We recommend arriving a little early to find a spot.

What do we talk about in your initial phone consultation?

Initial phone consultations are normally 15-20 minutes long.

You’re welcome to ask any questions about my approach, therapy process, or whether somatic therapy may be helpful for you.

What is most helpful for me is understanding your current symptoms so I can make thoughtful recommendations based on what you’re experiencing.

What happens in a first session?

In the first session, we focus on getting to know you and understanding what you’re experiencing. I want to learn about you — your symptoms, your history, and what you’re hoping for from therapy.

Because therapy works best as a collaborative process, we may also begin exploring how your voice, boundaries, and needs show up in the room.

Establishing relational safety and trust is an essential foundation for deeper somatic therapy work.

How many sessions do people usually need?

There isn’t one universal answer.
The number of sessions depends on the person, their symptoms, goals, and how their nervous system responds to therapy.

We can talk about this more during a free phone consultation.
After a few initial sessions — usually around 3–5 — we’ll have a much clearer sense of what your system needs and what pace of therapy feels most supportive for you.

From there, we can shape a plan that fits your unique situation.
